MISSION
The Crimean Tatar Foundation USA supports the Crimean Tatars — an indigenous people of Ukraine as recognized by Law of Ukraine No. 1616-IX (2021) — through cultural diplomacy, academic research, humanitarian aid, and advocacy for indigenous peoples’ rights in accordance with the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP).

FUNDING MODEL
The Crimean Tatar Foundation USA operates on a founder-invested volunteer model — a structure that reflects the deep personal commitment of our leadership to the Crimean Tatar cause and ensures complete organizational independence.
VOLUNTEER LEADERSHIP
Our board members and team contribute their professional expertise in academia and scholarly research, international relations and diplomacy, indigenous peoples’ rights and UNDRIP implementation, genocide studies and transitional justice, human rights documentation and monitoring, peace building and conflict resolution, space policy and emerging technologies, strategic communications and media production, cultural heritage preservation, gender equality and women’s leadership, documentary filmmaking (Crimea Speaks project), policy analysis and advocacy, event management and cultural diplomacy, multilingual communications (English, Ukrainian, Crimean Tatar, Russian)— representing significant in-kind value to the organization.
FOUNDER INVESTMENT
Founding members personally invest in the organization’s mission, covering operational costs and demonstrating the authentic grassroots nature of our work.
ACADEMIC PARTNERSHIP
Our affiliation with Purdue University provides institutional support including research resources, library access, and academic collaboration.
COMPLETE INDEPENDENCE
The organization receives no government funding from any source, ensuring full autonomy in our advocacy, research, and policy positions. This independence is fundamental to our credibility as a civil society voice.
SUSTAINABLE GROWTH
As a registered 501(c)(3) public charity, we are building a diversified funding base through individual donations and foundation partnerships while maintaining our commitment to independence.
