Crimean Tatar Heritage in the Heart of Manhattan: A Cultural Celebration Unites Nations
On July 1, 2023, the Ukrainian National Home in Manhattan became the epicenter of an exciting cultural event that drew the attention of over 200 guests to the rich heritage of the Crimean Tatar people. The event, titled “All Roads Lead to Crimea: Crimean Tatar Anthem in Manhattan,” brought together Americans, Ukrainians, and Crimean Tatars in a unique celebration of cultural diversity.

Event Program
The doors of the Ukrainian National Home opened at 1:00 PM, inviting guests to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of Crimean Tatar culture. The main part of the program began at 1:30 PM, offering visitors a variety of cultural experiences:
- Traditional Art Exhibition: Guests could view unique samples of Crimean Tatar embroidery, ceramics, and jewelry.
- Musical Performances: Traditional Crimean Tatar melodies and songs were played on national instruments.
- Dance Numbers: Professional dancers presented the energetic Haytarma and other national dances.
- Culinary Tasting: Participants had the opportunity to try traditional Crimean Tatar dishes such as kobete, qurabie, baklava and tradition coffee.
- Lectures and Discussions: Invited speakers talked about the history, culture, and contemporary challenges of the Crimean Tatar people.
At 3:30 PM, guests were treated to a coffee and sweets break, during which they could exchange impressions and interact with organizers and participants.
